How to compare concrete quotes on one basis
The useful comparison changes only one variable at a time. This page holds the material quantity, allowance, delivery, added fees, and tax constant while substituting each user-entered unit price. It does not convert an incomplete quote into an installed project estimate.

Start with a checked quantity
Enter cubic yards, cubic meters, or whole bags from a completed takeoff. If the amount does not already include an allowance, apply a deliberate scenario here and keep the net quantity visible.

Normalize the unit basis
All three prices must use the selected basis. Do not compare a delivered per-yard quote with a per-bag shelf price or a per-meter quote without converting the quantity and understanding included charges.

Enter the same fixed charges
Delivery and other fees are held constant across the three scenarios. If suppliers quote different fixed charges, run each complete quote separately rather than mixing parts of different offers.

Review totals and boundaries
The calculator reports low, base, and high totals at full internal precision, then formats currency to cents. Labor, equipment, permits, reinforcement, and contractor overhead remain outside the result.

The Concrete Price Calculator is designed for written figures you already have, not a national average presented as local fact. Put every scenario on the same quantity and unit basis, then identify whether delivery, short-load, environmental, fuel, weekend, or pumping charges are included.
A truck at the site makes the hidden variables tangible: access, load size, placement timing, and service scope can change a quote even when the unit price looks similar. Preserve the supplier's validity date and mix specification with the result.
Check the arithmetic
Worked example: 10 yd³ at three hypothetical prices
Suppose a checked takeoff is 10 yd³ with no added allowance. Entering hypothetical prices of $120, $150, and $180 per yd³ produces material subtotals of $1,200, $1,500, and $1,800 before any fixed charges or tax.
Delivery charges, other fees, and tax must use the same inputs across all three scenarios for a valid sensitivity comparison. The example is not a statement about current prices in any market and does not show whether the quotes include the same concrete specification or service.

Use the result correctly
What makes a concrete price comparison valid?
01 Match the concrete and service
Two unit prices are not directly comparable when strength, exposure class, admixtures, fibers, delivery window, minimum load, or unloading time differ. Use written quotes and compare the same requested specification.
02 Keep unit prices and fixed fees separate
A lower unit price can still produce a higher total after delivery or short-load charges. Enter the charges shown in each quote and run separate scenarios when the fixed terms differ.
03 Do not mistake material for installed cost
Concrete material is one part of a project budget. Site preparation, forms, reinforcement, pumping, placement, finishing, curing, permits, testing, and contractor costs are not inferred from the material quantity.

What is the average price of concrete per cubic yard?
This calculator does not publish an average because a national value can be misleading for a local purchase. Mix requirements, market, load size, distance, fuel, timing, and service fees change the quote. Enter current written prices from relevant suppliers.
Can I compare cubic-yard and cubic-meter prices?
Yes, but all scenarios in one calculation must use the same selected basis. Switching between cubic yards and cubic meters converts the physical quantity; verify the converted unit prices against the written quotes before relying on the comparison.
Can the calculator compare bag prices?
Yes. Choose bags, enter a whole-bag quantity, and enter three per-bag prices. The bag count must already come from the declared yield of the exact selected product; bag weight alone does not establish concrete yield.
Where do delivery and short-load fees go?
Use Delivery for the quoted delivery amount and Additional fees for disclosed charges such as a short-load or environmental fee. Do not enter a fee again if the supplier's unit price already includes it.
Does the result include labor or an installed concrete price?
No. The result is a material-price scenario based only on the quantity and monetary inputs shown. It does not estimate labor, forms, equipment, pumping, reinforcement, site preparation, finishing, permits, testing, or contractor overhead.
