How product-specific SAKRETE bag counts work
Bag weight is not used as a substitute for yield. The calculator ties each option to a named product, U.S. region, item number, declared cubic-foot yield, source URL, and check date. It calculates volume first, applies the selected allowance second, and rounds bags last.

Identify the exact product
This page is limited to the named U.S. SAKRETE product records shown in the selector. Do not apply the result to another mix, country, bag size, or item number without its current declared yield.

Enter length, width, and thickness using the displayed units. For another geometry, first calculate its volume with the main tool, then use product data that matches the selected bag.

Apply an explicit allowance
The default is 0%. If you select a scenario, order volume shows the exact additional amount. The calculator does not claim that one percentage is appropriate for every project.

Round to whole bags once
Order cubic feet are divided by declared cubic feet per bag at full precision. The final count rounds up because a fraction of a sealed bag is not an orderable unit; unused nominal capacity is also reported.

The SAKRETE Concrete Calculator connects each selectable U.S. item to a declared cubic-foot yield rather than guessing from bag weight. Verify the name, region, item number, bag size, and current package label before treating the rounded count as a purchasing input.
The image deliberately uses plain bags rather than imitating protected packaging. It illustrates the physical planning problem without implying affiliation: a project requires whole bags, while the arithmetic must retain the selected product's precise yield until the final rounding step.
Check the arithmetic
Worked example: 10 ft × 10 ft × 4 in with 60 lb bags
The net volume is 10 × 10 × (4 ÷ 12) = 33.333333 ft³. The selected U.S. product page declares 0.45 ft³ for the 60 lb option, so 33.333333 ÷ 0.45 = 74.074074 exact bags.
At the default 0% allowance, the purchase count rounds up to 75 whole bags. Their declared nominal capacity is 33.75 ft³, leaving 0.416667 ft³ above the calculated net volume. Yield is described by the manufacturer as a product figure; real placement and package instructions must still be checked.

02 Do not convert bag weight into yield
Two mixes with the same weight can contain different aggregates and produce different volumes. This page uses only the declared yield attached to each listed product option.
03 Keep brand identification factual

How many 60 lb SAKRETE bags make one cubic yard?
For the listed 60 lb U.S. record with a declared yield of 0.45 ft³, 27 ÷ 0.45 equals exactly 60 bags per cubic yard. That result applies only to that product record and region, before any selected allowance.
How many 80 lb bags make one cubic yard?
For the listed 80 lb U.S. option with a declared yield of 0.60 ft³, one cubic yard is 27 ÷ 0.60 = 45 bags. Verify the current package label because products and regional availability can change.
Can I use this result for any SAKRETE product?
No. It is limited to the named U.S. product options in the selector. Fast-setting, lightweight, repair, sand/topping, Canadian, or other regional products can have different yields and application requirements.
Why does the calculator always round up?
The exact division can produce part of a bag, but sealed bags are purchased as whole units. The tool applies any selected allowance to volume first and rounds the final bag count once, using a tolerance so floating-point noise does not add an extra bag at an exact boundary.
